For the first time in seven years, Apple has increased the prices of the iPhone Pro. The company has launched the new series for customers, but it’s noteworthy that the prices of some models have changed. Not only the Pro variant, but the Air variant, which has replaced the Plus variant, is also priced higher than the Plus variant.

Specifically, the new iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1099 (approximately ₹97,002), which is $100 (approximately ₹8,826) more than the starting price of the iPhone 16 Pro last year, which was $999 (approximately ₹88,175). However, the new price includes 256GB of storage, while the iPhone 16 Pro launched last year had 128GB of storage, meaning the iPhone 17 will now offer double the storage.

Apart from the Pro variant, Apple has announced changes in its lineup and replaced the Plus variant with the thinner iPhone Air. The starting price of this new model is $999 (approximately ₹88,175), which is $100 (approximately ₹8,826) more than the Plus model. Apple’s Chief Marketing Officer Greg Joswiak emphasized that the entry-level storage has been increased throughout the entire lineup.

Furthermore, tech analysts and investors had already expected price changes. Apple incurred over $1 billion in tariff expenses this quarter. The company is shifting production from China to India to reduce the burden of tariffs, but the financial impact is also affecting the prices of products. Despite the increase in the prices of the Pro and Air models, Apple has set the price of the iPhone 17 at $799 (approximately ₹70,522).
