Microsoft is set to release a series of new AI features for Windows 11 users, integrated through Copilot. These updates include the Copilot Vision tool, designed to analyze content on the screen. Users can then ask Copilot questions about what’s visible, spanning across multiple apps and webpages. Additionally, Copilot will be able to perform tasks such as enhancing image lighting. The features are rolling out gradually to all users and will be accessible through the Copilot app. Some features will be exclusive to Copilot Plus PCs. A commissioned consumer AI report cited by Microsoft shows that a majority of users are already using generative AI for both work and personal interests. The new features also include an AI-powered sticker generator in Paint and an object select tool, along with a new AI lighting option in Photos and a perfect screenshot tool. The rollout is scheduled to begin in August, alongside non-AI related updates like a color picker for the Snipping Tool and a mechanism to auto-fix unexpected restarts.
