Reliance Jio, a prominent telecommunications provider, has discontinued one of its entry-level plans, potentially impacting users. The affected plan offered 1.5 GB of daily data for a duration of 84 days at a cost of Rs 799. Subscribers will now need to transition to the Rs 889 plan, which also provides 1.5 GB of daily data, but for the same 84-day period. Alternatively, for users seeking an entry-level plan with 1.5 GB of daily data, the Rs 239 plan, valid for 22 days, is still available. The plan was still available on PhonePe as of Wednesday evening, despite Jio’s decision to discontinue entry-level plans offering 1 GB of daily data for Rs 209 (22 days) and Rs 249 (28 days). These discontinued plans are only available at physical retail outlets, with online recharges no longer an option, making the industry’s new base plan price at Rs 299. Jio stated that the 1.5 GB/day for 84 days plan continues to be available for recharge across popular payment platforms, including PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm, in addition to their own website. Jio remains committed to providing a wide range of affordable and convenient recharge options to suit every need. The Rs 799 plan offers 84-day validity, free national roaming, and unlimited calling across India. This plan offers 1.5GB of high-speed data per day and 100 free SMS daily. Subscribers also get access to Jio TV and Jio AI Cloud. Furthermore, Jio offers another 84-day plan that includes a subscription to an OTT app. Airtel has also removed its budget-friendly mobile data plan that offered 1GB of data per day, and it is no longer available on the company’s website, forcing users who want 1GB daily data to opt for the Rs 299 plan instead.
