Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Pratibha Setu Portal during his 125th Mann Ki Baat program. He hailed it as a ‘talent bridge,’ emphasizing its role in providing new opportunities for thousands of candidates who successfully cleared all stages of the UPSC exams but did not make the final merit list. The UPSC exams are notoriously difficult, and many candidates miss the final list by a narrow margin, leading to wasted time and resources as they prepare again. Pratibha Setu aims to provide these talented students with both opportunities and dignity. The portal, previously known as the Public Disclosure Scheme (2018), has been enhanced and rebranded. It currently houses data of over 10,000 candidates. The platform connects capable UPSC aspirants who missed the final list with new career opportunities. The exams covered include the Civil Services Examination (CSE), Indian Forest Service (IFoS), Engineering Services (IES), Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service (IES/ISS), Combined Medical Services, Combined Defence Services (CDS), and the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination. Government and private companies can register on the portal, and after verification, they receive a login ID. They can view candidates’ educational qualifications, exam details, and basic contact information. This allows companies to directly offer jobs to these candidates. The data is made available through a secure and transparent system. Pratibha Setu ensures that candidates who have worked hard and cleared all stages, but didn’t secure a spot in the final list, also get opportunities. The portal benefits the government, the private sector, and the candidates.
