WhatsApp is continually introducing new features to enhance user convenience. This time, Meta has introduced an AI feature that allows users to instantly gather information about any message. This feature is called Ask Meta AI. It is currently being tested in WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.25.23.24 and is expected to be rolled out to all users soon. The Ask Meta AI feature provides a quick way to verify the authenticity of messages and gain additional context. When a message is received, the option to Ask Meta AI will appear. Clicking this will send the message directly to the Meta AI chat, where users can pose questions related to the message to ascertain its truthfulness or seek further details. This feature is designed to combat misinformation and improve the overall messaging experience.

To use the feature, users can simply click on Ask Meta AI option available within a message. The selected message will be highlighted within the Meta AI chat, where users can then ask questions or seek clarification. For example, if a forwarded message is received and the user wants to verify its accuracy, instead of forwarding the message, they can use the Ask Meta AI option to directly inquire within the AI chat.

This feature is particularly significant because it helps in curbing fake news and rumors. It facilitates easy fact-checking of viral messages, thereby reducing the likelihood of the spread of false information. While currently available for beta users, the company plans to release it globally to all users through the stable version.
