A gun battle in Balochistan’s Barkhan district resulted in the deaths of four Baloch fighters on Friday. The confrontation, which unfolded in the Koh-e-Jandar area of Rakni tehsil, involved a ‘state-backed’ armed group and lasted for several hours. Residents reported the use of heavy weaponry during the exchange of fire. The deceased were identified as Mustafa Noor, Samiullah, Rasaan Qadir, and Shahzaib. Their bodies were later taken to a Rakni hospital. The opposing group is widely believed to be a pro-government militia. Despite the gravity of the incident, Pakistani authorities have not issued any official statements. Separately, heavy fighting was reported in the Spilinji area of Mastung district due to a military operation by Pakistani forces. Large numbers of troops entered the mountainous region late Thursday night, followed by intense gunfire and explosions, indicating a prolonged engagement. Casualties were reported on both sides, and ambulances and reinforcements were observed entering the area. The exact number of dead or wounded remains unknown, and no Baloch armed group has claimed responsibility for the clashes in Spilinji. The ongoing conflict between Baloch nationalist groups and state forces continues to escalate.
