A wave of synchronized attacks swept through Balochistan as the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) initiated ‘Operation Herof 2.0’ on Saturday, striking at the heart of Pakistani military presence. From Quetta to Gwadar, explosions and gunfire echoed in districts like Nushki, Kalat, Mastung, Dalbandin, Kharan, Pasni, Tump, Bulida, and Dhadar, according to local reports.

Declaring it a new era of defiance, BLA spokesperson Jiyand Baloch framed the campaign as total war on the occupier’s forces and bureaucracy. He rallied the Baloch populace: ‘Together with our warriors, we’ll crush the foe in every corner of our land. This operation signals the end of occupation in Balochistan.’

Security deteriorated rapidly, with heavy exchanges of fire reported at police stations and army camps. Quetta saw particularly vicious fighting; assailants torched a police van on Sarayab Road after killing its two occupants, while blasts rocked the high-security Red Zone and nearby areas. Shots rang out near the railway station, sending residents into panic.

The BLA’s media statement detailed assaults across 10 urban centers, where fighters blocked enemy supply lines, pushed back soldiers, and launched suicide missions against key installations. In Quetta, Pasni, Gwadar, Nushki, and Dalbandin, the elite Majeed Brigade stormed ISI and army camps, claiming to have overrun large sections.

Dozens of Pakistani outposts were reportedly crippled, with the group teasing forthcoming evidence. BLA chief Bashir Zeb Baloch took to the airwaves, imploring every Baloch to join the fray. ‘No single hero bears this burden—it’s our nation’s soul rising. Unite, emerge from your homes, and make Operation Herof unstoppable,’ he proclaimed.

This surge underscores Balochistan’s deepening quest for sovereignty, fueled by years of alleged atrocities: home invasions, illegal detentions, forced vanishings, ‘kill and dump’ tactics, and sham legal persecutions. As Pakistani reinforcements pour in, the BLA’s bold gambit tests Islamabad’s grip on the resource-rich province, potentially reshaping regional dynamics.
