The Chhattisgarh Pavilion at the Osaka World Expo 2025 became a major attraction on its opening day. More than 22,000 visitors experienced the unique blend of Chhattisgarh’s heritage, industries, and tourism.

Chhattisgarh is actively participating under the India Pavilion from August 24 to 30, 2025, following an invitation from the Indian Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO). The grand pavilion officially launched on the opening day.

Designed to offer a vibrant experience, the pavilion beautifully showcases Chhattisgarh’s cultural richness, industrial strength, and tourism potential. It introduces global audiences to Chhattisgarh’s development journey and future possibilities.

The beauty and heritage of Chhattisgarh are prominently displayed in the pavilion. Nava Raipur, the first greenfield smart city in the country, designed for investment and industrial progress, is a special attraction. The natural beauty of Chhattisgarh, including Chitrakot Falls, also known as the ‘Niagara of India’ due to its width, has captured attention.

Sirpur, a site reflecting history and faith, is prominently featured in the pavilion. It is a vast Buddhist site from the 8th century AD, showcasing Chhattisgarh’s deep cultural and spiritual heritage. Inspired by the ideas and teachings of Buddha, Chhattisgarh promotes shared values of peace, inclusion, and sustainable development.

The pavilion emphasizes Chhattisgarh’s strategic geographical location. Its central position and multi-modal transport network make it the largest logistics hub within the country. The rapid progress of Chhattisgarh in sectors like manufacturing, textiles, IT/ITES, electronics, and village industries is also highlighted, establishing the state as an investment-ready destination for global investors.

The pavilion showcases the folk art and handicrafts of Chhattisgarh. Bastar’s Dhokra art – a 4,000-year-old GI-tagged metal craft – attracts with its raw beauty and originality. Kosa silk, the cultural soul of Chhattisgarh, is a major attraction, known for its natural sheen, strength, and appeal. It is made from the Anthraea mylitta silkworm found in the state’s forests. Artistic installations made from Kosa express the soul of Chhattisgarh – where spirituality, nature, and development are in balance.

The Chhattisgarh Pavilion’s impressive debut and record-breaking visitor numbers have set the tone for the coming week. The pavilion celebrates cultural diversity and establishes Chhattisgarh as an emerging hub for sustainable industrial progress and global investment opportunities.
