A recent survey reveals alarming levels of discrimination and racism against Muslims in France, under the leadership of President Emmanuel Macron. The survey indicates that 82% of Muslims believe that hatred against them has become common across the country. Furthermore, 81% report that this hatred has intensified over the past decade. France is home to approximately 5 to 6 million Muslims, making them the second-largest religious group in the nation. In the initial months of 2025 (January to May), there was a 75% increase in anti-Muslim incidents compared to the previous year. The survey, conducted by the polling agency Ifop, involved 1,000 French Muslims and was published by the newly established Observatory of Discrimination Against Muslims.
