Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was hospitalized due to a sudden decline in health. His son, Flavio, reported that Bolsonaro experienced a medical emergency, including hiccups, vomiting, and low blood pressure, leading to his transport to the hospital under police guard. Doctors attributed the condition to poor nutrition over the past month. Bolsonaro, who was under house arrest following a 27-year prison sentence, was accused of attempting a coup after losing the 2022 election to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. His lawyers have announced their intention to appeal the sentence. Flavio Bolsonaro shared details of his father’s condition on social media, describing the situation as an emergency and expressing hope for a swift recovery. Doctors indicated that Bolsonaro’s weakened state and mild anemia were linked to an inadequate diet. Additionally, the former president recently underwent a biopsy, with eight skin samples taken for examination. Bolsonaro faced five charges during the trial, including allegations of plotting to assassinate Lula, Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, and Alexandre de Moraes.
