The Gen-Z group has called for the arrest of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and then-Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak concerning their alleged role in the shooting during anti-government protests on September 8th. The shooting resulted in 19 fatalities. Dr. Nicholas Bushal, one of the advisors to the Gen-Z group leading the protests, asserted that Oli, Lekhak, and Kathmandu’s Chief District Officer Chhabi Rizal should be immediately apprehended, as they were directly responsible for the shooting at New Baneshwor, which claimed the lives of 19 activists. Bushal also demanded the formation of a high-level investigation commission to probe the assets of all high-ranking leaders and government officials since 1990. Furthermore, Gen-Z activists held a demonstration at Maitighar Mandala, near the Singh Durbar Secretariat, demanding the arrest of Oli and Lekhak, the location where their protest rally commenced on September 8th.
