Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the enduring relationship between India and Russia, emphasizing that the two nations have consistently supported each other, even during challenging times. During a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, PM Modi asserted that the collaboration between New Delhi and Moscow is crucial for fostering global peace, stability, and prosperity. He stated that the close cooperation between India and Russia is essential not only for the citizens of both countries but also for the well-being of the international community. This comes amidst a backdrop of increasing global tensions, including the US imposing tariffs on Indian goods, which includes penalties for purchasing discounted crude oil from Moscow. Regarding the Ukraine conflict, PM Modi welcomed peace initiatives and expressed hope that all parties involved would engage constructively to find a resolution and establish lasting peace. He noted the significance of his meetings with President Putin, highlighting the exchange of information and the regular high-level discussions between the two nations. PM Modi also mentioned that the people of India eagerly anticipate President Putin’s visit to New Delhi in December of this year.
