Excitement grips the Indian community in Malaysia as PM Narendra Modi embarks on a pivotal two-day visit from February 7-8. After upgrading bilateral relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership last year, this trip underscores growing synergies.

Over a million people of Indian origin await PM Modi’s arrival with bated breath. Pradeep Batra, who met the PM in 2015, called it ‘a proud moment for every Indian here,’ especially with Anwar Ibrahim by his side.

Preparations for a massive welcome include a spectacular cultural event. Dance director Kalpana, part of the 2015 performing group, said, ‘We’re overjoyed to present our arts again. Malaysia loves PM Modi dearly.’

Up to 1,000 dancers will perform classical and folk routines, creating history on stage. A performer gushed, ‘Modi has become a global icon. This will celebrate our role and boost cultural, economic, and political links.’

Recalling the postponed trip from three months back, artist Deepa Rajendran said relief has turned to fervor. ‘One show will capture India’s diversity, offering a glimpse of Vibrant India.’

Bharatanatyam Association head Gayatri C Ramesh revealed, ‘We’ve fused various dance forms into one majestic piece to honor India’s splendor.’

On the agenda: high-level talks on boosting trade, investments, defense cooperation, and signing a landmark deal in semiconductors, signaling a new era of collaboration between the two nations.
