Alwar. A unique and inspiring news has come out from Alwar district of Rajasthan, where dogs are saving the lives of injured and sick animals by donating blood like humans. This initiative has been started to save the lives of animals injured in road accidents and other accidents. The special thing is that these dogs, who were once victims of accidents themselves, are now recovering and helping in saving the lives of others.

This unique initiative is going on with the help of Alwar’s veterinary hospital and an organization. The organization says that dogs injured in road accidents bleed, which increases the risk to their lives. Now the recovered dogs are helping in saving the lives of other injured animals by donating blood. The names of these dogs are Kalu, Bahra and Bhuri, who themselves had once been victims of accidents.

According to the organization, dogs have 13 to 20 types of blood groups, which makes it easy to match blood. A dog can donate blood 5 to 6 times in a year. Donated blood is stored at special temperatures for 6 months.

The head of the organization, Diwakar, said that they have 85 dogs, monkeys, pigeons and other wild animals, most of which had reached here after getting injured in road accidents. All of them are treated in the veterinary hospital, and when they recover, they are released at the same place.

Regarding this initiative, veterinarian Dr. Anuj Tomar said that blood donation of dogs is not only safe, but it is also very beneficial. Describing it as an example of humanity, he said that this step can change the attitude towards animals in the society and it proves that animals can also help others while living within their limits.
