In the shadow of upcoming elections, Bangladesh is witnessing a terrifying spike in atrocities against its minority communities, prompting grave concerns from Indian intelligence agencies. Long-standing tensions have exploded into organized violence that’s methodically blanketing the country.

According to HRCBM reports, 116 minorities fell victim to murder in a mere seven months—from early June 2025 to early January 2026. Unlike past episodes confined to select regions, this onslaught spans every corner of Bangladesh’s administrative landscape.

‘It’s not just frequent; it’s engineered with precision,’ a high-ranking IB official revealed. Perpetrators, undeterred by regime changes, appear committed to total elimination, ignoring all interventions that once curbed such violence.

Post-Hasina, the Yunus-led setup has reportedly emboldened radical networks like Jamaat and ISI collaborators, who see electoral gains in fanning communal fires. This isn’t mere thuggery; it’s a calculated message to unsettle neighboring India while reshaping Bangladesh’s societal fabric.

Historical data shows a stark decline in minority numbers, from a third of the population post-partition to under 10% today, fueled by entrenched discrimination. As polls near, agencies predict a surge in attacks to rally extremist support.

While the administration labels these as isolated feuds, investigations prove otherwise—deliberate hunts for minorities. The world watches as Bangladesh teeters on the brink of irreversible demographic shifts.
