An extensive attack was initiated by Israel on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa. The strikes targeted Houthi rebels, focusing on energy centers within the city. Sanaa is currently under the control of the Houthi terrorist group.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on their X handle that multiple military targets belonging to the Houthi regime in Sanaa, Yemen, were struck. These included a military site near the presidential palace, the Adar and Hizaz power plants, and a fuel storage site. The IDF stated that these locations were being used for military activities by the Houthi regime. These actions were carried out in response to persistent missile and UAV attacks on Israel by the Houthis. The IDF noted that the Houthis, supported by Iran, continue to exploit civilian infrastructure for terror purposes.

The IDF confirmed that these sites were being utilized by the Houthis for terrorist operations. The strikes were declared as retaliatory measures. The Houthis have recently launched attacks on Israel using missiles and UAVs. The Houthi terrorist organization receives direction and funding from Iran.

Reports from Houthi-affiliated media, Al Jazeera, indicate that at least two people were killed and five wounded during the Israeli attack on the Yemeni capital. The Israeli military confirmed the targeting of Houthi military infrastructure, including a site in the presidential palace area and the Asar and Hizaz power plants.

The attack involved approximately a dozen Israeli Air Force planes along with refuellers, the military stated that it was in response to the continuing attacks against Israel by the Houthis.
