The 80th Victory Day parade in Beijing, China, marked a significant event as it brought together Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on the same platform for the first time. Xi Jinping showcased China’s military might during the parade, presenting himself as a global leader.

A bilateral meeting between Putin and Kim followed the parade, attracting global attention. The meeting, which lasted for over an hour, saw both leaders emphasizing the strengthening of their mutual relations.

During the meeting in Beijing, Putin extended an invitation to Kim Jong-un to visit Russia. After the talks concluded, as the two leaders embraced, Kim mentioned they would meet soon. Putin responded by saying, “We are waiting for you, come to Russia.” This meeting was not merely a formality. According to Russian government media TASS, the two leaders also held a closed-door, confidential discussion for approximately an hour.
