Following Bangladesh, another neighboring country of India has announced elections. State television reported on Monday that the first phase of the general elections in Myanmar will be held on December 28. A roadmap has been prepared for the elections, which will be held for the first time in nearly five years in the war-torn country. However, critics are calling it a sham. Myanmar’s military government has announced the elections, while there are widespread doubts about whether the authorities will conduct free and fair voting.
