NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has issued a stark warning to India, China, and Brazil, threatening secondary sanctions if they persist in trading with Russia. Rutte’s remarks emphasized the potential for these measures unless these nations cease their business dealings with Russia. Rutte urged the leaders of these countries to engage with Vladimir Putin, encouraging him to accept a US-brokered peace agreement. He stated, ‘If you are the President of China, or the Prime Minister of India, or the President of Brazil, and you are still trading with the Russians and buying their oil and gas, I will impose secondary sanctions at 100%.’ Rutte also called on these leaders to persuade Putin to engage seriously in peace talks, warning of significant repercussions for their nations. Simultaneously, Rutte assured that European countries would financially support Ukraine to strengthen its position during peace negotiations with Russia, including providing air defense, missiles, and ammunition.
