Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a strong warning to nations recognizing Palestinian statehood, asserting that such actions constitute a reward for terrorism. He declared that a Palestinian state west of the Jordan River will not be established. Netanyahu stated he would provide a detailed response following his return from the United States. In a message on Twitter, he directly addressed leaders who have recognized a Palestinian state after the October 7th massacre, accusing them of rewarding terror. He emphasized that the creation of a Palestinian state in the region is not going to happen and that he has worked to prevent such an outcome for years. He mentioned the pressure from both domestic and international sources. Furthermore, he noted the expansion of Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria. He assured that a response to the latest attempt to establish a Palestinian state will be given upon his return from the United States. Australia, Canada, and the UK jointly recognized the State of Palestine, advocating for a two-state solution, but also demanding the immediate cessation of Hamas’s existence. Australia’s Prime Minister’s Office released a statement affirming Australia’s formal recognition of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine. The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized the countries’ actions, claiming they would jeopardize regional security and undermine the prospects for peace. The Ministry said that the declaration does not promote peace, but destabilizes the region.
