Torrential rainfall and flash floods have wreaked havoc in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PoK) over the past 24 hours. According to officials, the disaster has claimed the lives of at least 154 people, with a large number still missing. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has been the worst hit, where cloudbursts and strong currents have caused loss of life and infrastructure damage across several districts.

Local authorities reported that 75 deaths occurred in the Buner district, 17 in Mansehra, and 18 each in Bajaur and Batagram districts. Five lives were lost in Lower Dir, with four injuries. Swat reported four deaths, and Shangla reported one.

Authorities warn that the death toll could rise as the number of missing people is significant.
