    Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival in Trinidad and Tobago was marked by a vibrant Bhojpuri Chautaal performance, symbolizing the deep cultural connections between the two nations. During his first official visit to the Caribbean country, PM Modi engaged with the Indian diaspora, acknowledging their significant contributions to Trinidad and Tobago’s development. In a post on X, he expressed his delight at witnessing the traditional Bhojpuri Chautaal performance, highlighting the strong bond between Trinidad & Tobago and India, particularly with regions of eastern UP and Bihar. He shared a video of the performance on his official X account, stating, “Bhojpuri Chautaal echoes in Trinidad & Tobago!” PM Modi also met with members of the Indian community, commending their success in various fields and their dedication to preserving Indian culture. He further noted the historical ties, mentioning that many Indians migrated to Trinidad & Tobago years ago. The Prime Minister also interacted with the winners of the Bharat Ko Janiye (Know India) Quiz in Trinidad & Tobago, fostering deeper connections with the diaspora. This visit marks PM Modi’s inaugural visit as Prime Minister and the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the Caribbean nation since 1999, undertaken at the invitation of Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister. He received a ceremonial Guard of Honour upon arrival.
