    The Quad, comprising the United States, Australia, India, and Japan, issued a joint statement strongly condemning the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, 2025. The statement expressed solidarity with the victims, offering condolences to the families of the 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen who lost their lives, and wishing a swift recovery to the injured. The Quad demanded that those responsible for the attack be brought to justice without delay and urged global cooperation in this regard. The statement also highlighted the launch of the Quad Critical Minerals Initiative to strengthen economic security, along with other initiatives focused on maritime security, technology, and humanitarian assistance. The Quad reaffirmed its commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific and expressed concern over the ongoing crisis in Myanmar, calling for a peaceful resolution.
