Russia conducted a significant series of strikes on Ukrainian military facilities and natural gas infrastructure, according to reports. Overnight, long-range drones and missiles were deployed from various launch platforms, hitting all predetermined targets, as stated by the Russian Ministry of Defence. Ukraine’s state-owned energy firm, Naftogaz, described the attacks as the most extensive yet on the country’s gas extraction sites, labeling the damage as “critical.” Approximately 35 missiles struck facilities in the Kharkiv and Poltava regions. This assault surpasses a previous large-scale attack in July and coincides with recent diplomatic efforts by Kyiv’s Western allies to negotiate a peace agreement. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attacks, calling them a deliberate crime and an extension of the war, while Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko characterized it as a “massive attack,” noting that several cities, including Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro, Kremenchuk, Odesa, and Kyiv, came under fire.
