Russia has reportedly foiled a clandestine operation by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) aimed at acquiring sensitive defense technology. In a significant counter-espionage effort in St. Petersburg, a Russian national was apprehended while allegedly attempting to transfer classified documents. These documents are understood to pertain to advanced military helicopter development, including details on the Mi8AMTShV and MI8 AMTShV (VA) transport helicopters, and potentially, critical information about Russia’s formidable S-400 air defense systems. Investigators believe this marks the first known instance of the ISI engaging in such espionage activities within Russian territory.
