In a post on X, Gor conveyed his appreciation for Trump’s trust, stating his honor in representing the United States. The announcement comes at a time of strain in diplomatic and trade relations between New Delhi and Washington, particularly with the imposition of significant tariffs on Indian goods. Trump, announcing the nomination on Truth Social, praised Gor’s contributions, including his role as Director of Presidential Personnel, and his long-standing support during his campaigns. Gor will succeed Eric Garcetti, with the US Embassy in India currently led by interim Charge d’Affaires Jorgan K. Andrews.
