    Bangladesh experienced a significant earthquake on Friday, with tremors felt across several areas, including Dhaka and Chittagong. The earthquake, measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale, originated in Myanmar, near the Bangladesh border. No casualties have been reported at this time. According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the earthquake struck at 12:25 PM local time, with its epicenter located in Mandalay, Myanmar. The distance from the epicenter to Dhaka was approximately 597 kilometers. The earthquake has been classified as a major seismic event. The USGS indicated that the earthquake’s center was 16 kilometers north-northwest of Sagaing, Myanmar, at a depth of 10 kilometers, causing it to be felt in various parts of Bangladesh.
