The Taliban government in Afghanistan has removed Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution from the university curriculum, stating that it contradicts Islamic principles. Higher Education Minister Neda Mohammad Nadeem made the announcement at a conference on higher education held in Herat. He claimed that universities under previous administrations promoted moral corruption by teaching subjects that were contrary to Islamic values and beliefs. The conference in Herat included 29 scholars and researchers from countries including India, Uzbekistan, Iran, Turkey, Bangladesh, Britain, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan, along with representatives from public and private universities.
