Peter Navarro, a former White House trade advisor, has made strong accusations against India regarding its role in the Ukraine conflict. He has accused India of profiting from the war by purchasing Russian oil and increasing its closeness with China’s Xi Jinping. Navarro stated that India’s actions are not contributing to peace, but rather fueling the war. He criticized India for not acknowledging its role in the bloodshed of the Ukraine war.

Navarro warned that the deadline of August 27th for potentially doubling tariffs on India due to its purchase of Russian crude oil would not be extended. He emphasized that India does not need Russian oil and that it is a scheme for profiteering from refining. He further added that the money India earns from selling goods to the U.S. is then used to buy Russian oil, which Russia then uses to create more weapons and kill Ukrainians. He described this as “madness.”
