During meetings at the UNGA, former US President Donald Trump engaged with leaders from Turkey and Pakistan within a 24-hour period. He met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with Field Marshal Asim Munir. A strategic civil nuclear deal was signed between the US and Turkey. After closed-door meetings with Sharif and Munir, Trump referred to Asim Munir as a ‘great guy’. This development, with the US fostering relationships with both nations, could be a cause for concern for India, particularly given existing tensions related to Russian oil and tariffs.
