Former U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that there was no need for changes to the Gaza peace plan, as everyone was in favor of it. Speaking to reporters before departing the White House, Trump addressed questions about the Gaza plan, indicating that final details would be decided within days.

Trump remarked that there were very few options, and flexibility wasn’t required because nearly everyone agreed. He emphasized that while some alterations might occur, the plan was remarkable. He added that peace in the Middle East would be achieved, a first in 3,000 years, and he felt honored to be a part of it. Trump noted that negotiations were ongoing and expected a resolution within a few days, which would bring great satisfaction.

Trump highlighted the plan’s significance for Israel and the entire Arab and Muslim world, calling it a ‘big deal.’ The White House shared on X (formerly Twitter) that positive discussions had taken place over the weekend with Hamas and countries worldwide, including Arab and Muslim nations, concerning the release of hostages, ending the war in Gaza, and, most importantly, achieving long-sought peace in the Middle East.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his hope for an announcement regarding the release of all hostages from Gaza in the coming days. Indirect talks are scheduled in Egypt with Hamas to discuss a new American plan to end the war. Netanyahu stated in a brief late-night statement that he had sent a delegation to Egypt to finalize technical matters.

He also expressed the goal of concluding these talks within days. This statement followed Hamas’s announcement of accepting some conditions of the American plan. President Trump welcomed Hamas’s statement but cautioned on Saturday that Hamas needed to act swiftly to avoid losing the opportunity.
