In a glowing endorsement of US-India relations, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed President Donald Trump’s profound admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the nation of India. Speaking to the press on February 4 in Washington, she detailed a fresh trade agreement that marks a strategic win for both sides.

The pact features India’s agreement to cease oil purchases from Russia, pivoting to Venezuela and potentially the United States. ‘PM Modi has not only promised to stop buying Russian oil but also perhaps to buy from the US and Venezuela,’ Leavitt claimed, pointing to immediate gains for American energy sectors and citizens.

Trump’s tariff strategy took center stage in Leavitt’s remarks. ‘As you saw yesterday, the president struck another major trade deal with India after speaking directly with PM Modi. They have a great relationship,’ she said. The deal encompasses a massive $500 billion investment commitment from India into key US areas like energy, transportation, and farming.

Leavitt highlighted how Trump’s policies are revitalizing manufacturing and creating jobs. ‘When you combine tariffs with reinvigorating American manufacturing and investment, it’s working,’ she declared. Recent months have witnessed accelerated growth in construction employment, attributing this to Trump’s global outreach for domestic investments.

Trump’s personal fondness for Modi was a recurring theme. ‘President Trump especially enjoys his relationship with the PM and India,’ Leavitt affirmed. This synergy has propelled economic collaborations, positioning the US-India partnership as a cornerstone of Trump’s America First agenda.

With energy dependencies shifting and investments surging, the agreement promises long-term prosperity. It exemplifies how diplomatic rapport can translate into tangible economic outcomes on the world stage.
