In an interview, Zelensky stated that he would not travel to the capital of terrorists, citing the daily missile attacks Ukraine is enduring. He proposed that Putin could instead come to Kyiv for a meeting.
Zelensky indicated that proposing talks in Moscow suggests Russia’s lack of interest in peace negotiations. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump is advocating for a face-to-face meeting between Zelensky and Putin, and the two leaders met in Alaska last month to discuss the possibility of such a meeting.
